Windsor Castle and Chennai Dosa

Today we visited a good friend of ours, Liz of Windsor. We dropped in unannounced and were fortunate to have caught her at home. Her black Landrover was parked out the back.

As we were walking in (I wish she would let us park nearer) we noticed the number of planes flying over her home. Apparently she doesn't mind at all. That should be a lesson to all those whingers in Badgery's Creek who oppose the second Sydney airport.

Her house is quite big. In fact one of her rooms, the Waterloo Room, can fit my new house . . . Both levels . . . And the land.

Walking around her house I was comforted by the fact that even the Queen's castle has creaking floorboards. Don't know why she needs so many rooms.

We also visited the inside of St George's Chapel which was beautiful. Unfortunately no cameras allowed so no photos.

Then we went off to Wembley for a six-foot dosa for dinner. As it turned out it was only five foot (1.5m in metric) and they only serve that on weekdays. Anyway, we ordered lots of types of dosa and other dishes. I had lamb mutton and it was great. Kids had Cone Dosa and Afzal had prawn masala with rice. Followed up lassi, gulab jamun and chai. Sadiq ordered pistachio kulfi but by the time everyone had a taste of it he was left with a small piece. As we left everyone was full and the kids were sleepy.

Tomorrow (Sunday) British Museum including the exhibition on Haj.

  3. Then you didn't stay for tea with Liz. I hear she serves nice cucumber sandwiches.

Or perhaps these days she gets take-away from Chennai Dosa as well.
