Shakespeare's Birthplace - Stratford-upon-Avon

A one and a half hour drive, at an insane 90mph (145kph) from London is the birthplace of William Shakespeare, located in Stratford-upon-Avon.

21 April marks the birthday of Shakespeare, and, as they do every year, Stratford holds a celebration.

We also used the opportunity to meet our very good friends Sageer, Sherna and family, who came from Nottingham (of Robin Hood fame).

A small museum in Stratford displays historic pieces believed to be used by Shakespeare, including the original book he wrote his plays in.

Afterwards, there is a tour of a replica of Shakespeare's house, including an explanation of the glove shop that once existed during Shakespeare's time.

An actor recited verses from the different plays, and did it very well, with great voicing and acting.

Sageer requested the speech by Marc Antoney from Julius Caesar. The actor commenced almost immediately: "Friends, Romans, Countrymen . . . "

The museum ended with a shop, which then led back onto the streets of Stratford.
